5 More Months in Peru!

Organized by Kristi Scott

Why 5 more months at Hogar de Esperanza?
As soon as I got to the orphanage, I started praying about staying in Trujillo longer. Then after a few weeks our volunteer coordinator, Elizabeth, mentioned that there wasn't a new volunteer coordinator lined up after her upcoming departure this December. I didn't want to apply because I knew that it would be a challenging position but I started praying about it and after a few months, the Lord told me I should do it.

When I told Elizabeth that I was interested in the position, she told me that the orphanage's U.S. administrator, Robyn, wanted someone who could stay through December 2011. That confirmed that I should stay longer and after applying for the position and getting it, I knew this was the right thing to do.

The volunteer coordinator position will have a lot more responsibilities than my current position as a casita assistant, but I'm really excited about the challenge! So to put it simply, I need more money in order to stay; $1,500. Even if you can't financially contribute, keep me in your prayers and continue to read the blog.
